Who says you have to choose between an intimate ceremony and a reception full of energy? Katie & Alex didn't. Their day began with a true microwedding ceremony at the Nebraska State Capitol — small, quiet, and surrounded only by their closest people — before moving to the Scottish Rite Ballroom in Lincoln, Nebraska, for a reception packed with dancing, laughter, and celebration with everyone they love.

It's one of my favorite kinds of days to shoot: personal and unhurried where it counts, then full volume once the party starts.
